Plain English: what this site collects, why, and what it doesn't do. Last updated October 2026.
Who I am
This is the portfolio site of Muhammad Waqar Qamar, a post-production and 2D motion design specialist based in Leeds, UK. I'm responsible for any personal information you share through it. You can reach me at muhammadwaqarqamar93@gmail.com.
What I collect, and why
The only personal information I collect is what you choose to send through the contact form: your name, your email address and your message. I use it to reply to you and to talk about the role, project or contract you've got in mind. Nothing else.
I rely on legitimate interests (replying to someone who has contacted me) and, where relevant, on taking steps at your request before we work together.
I don't use your details for marketing, I don't add you to mailing lists, and I never sell or share them with anyone else.
Where your message goes
- Netlify hosts this website and receives contact-form messages on my behalf, then forwards them to my inbox.
- Gmail (Google) is where those messages arrive and are stored.
These providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long I keep it
I keep messages for as long as I need them to reply and follow up, and no longer than 12 months, unless we go on to work together. You can ask me to delete your message at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site doesn't set any cookies of its own, and it doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers.
It keeps one tiny note in your browser's session memory, so the logo doesn't replay its animation on every page. It holds no personal information and disappears when you close the tab.
Some features load content from other services, and those services may set their own cookies or see your IP address:
- YouTube (Google) streams the showreel and the portfolio videos, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. When a video plays, YouTube may store cookies or similar data on your device. See Google's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces; your browser requests them from Google's servers.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) and jsDelivr deliver the animation and smooth-scroll scripts. They don't set cookies, but like any server they see the IP address making the request.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work, though videos may not play.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how I use it. Just email me. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
About the work shown
The videos and designs on this site were produced for the clients, agencies and employers named, who own the rights to them, including any licensed music, footage and brand assets. They're shown here only to illustrate my professional work, not for any commercial use, and the videos are never monetised. If you hold rights in any piece and have a concern, email me and I'll respond promptly.
Changes
If anything here changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
